Read the story
Tuesday
Talk about the beginning, middle and ending of the story. What happened first? What happened at the end? If children find it tricky recap by looking at some of the pictures.
Wednesday
Make some stick puppets to re-tell the story. Where did the pirates go? Who did they meet? Could you make a finger puppet or stick puppet crocodile?
Thursday
look at the different coloured pants hanging on the ships washing line at the start of the story. What different patterns and colours can you see? Now design your own pair of pants. What colours and patterns are you going to choose?
Friday
Play 'Kim's Game' find 5 silver or gold objects and put on a tray. Talk about each one. Then cover them up and secretly take one away. Can your child say which one is missing from the tray?
