Welcome from the Head Teacher

From Mrs Claire Kent, Head Teacher of Mount C of E Primary School.

Thank you for taking the time to look at our school website. We hope that you find it useful. Please do not hesitate to contact the school directly for any further enquiries either in person, via email at or by telephone on 01636 688166.

What is special about the Mount C of E Primary School?

At Mount C of E Primary School we celebrate differences. We are proud to have a diverse community which enables our school to explore first hand what it is like to live in another person's world. We value the partnership with our community and thrive on supporting our pupils in achieving their true potential.

Our curriculum is designed to deepen learning through applying skills in practical and real life situations. We recognise the importance of  pupils developing both academically and emotionally, this is an ethos that runs throughout the school and is often commented on by visitors.

Our pupils are extremely well mannered and polite. They are encouraged to listen to and respect the opinions of others, even if this differs from their own. They are supportive of each other and have plenty of opportunities to work collaboratively as well as working on their own.

As a church school we ensure that Christian virtues are embraced and that all pupils, whatever faith, are familiar with these. Pupils are equipped with the ability to make good choices and to be respectful and moral. Our school ethos is underpinned by our six core Christian Values - Caring, Hope, Understanding, Respect, Co-operation, Happiness.

A team of dedicated staff provide engaging and fun activities in a safe and secure environment through a series of short, sharp, focussed lessons. Staff at the Mount C of E Primary School provide for each child as an individual and will adapt their planning to enhance a pupil's strengths, interests and areas for development.

In order for our pupils to thrive, we believe that they should be happy and ready to learn. This is why we place a great deal of importance on working with parents and other members of our community.

Why choose Mount C of E Primary School?

We feel that the reasons above make our school the school of choice, however, if you take the time to visit us you will soon feel the buzz and recognise the inclusive ethos that is so important to all at Mount C of E Primary.

In March 2016, OFSTED visited us on a one day, no notice inspection and agreed that we were maintaining our Good OFSTED grade that we achieved in 2013. We then had our expected OFSTED inspection in February 2018, in which we maintained our GOOD grading.

Members of our senior leadership team have given talks and led workshops, sharing good practice at local and national level. This has included the House of Commons.

A true testament to the standard of the school is that many staff, including myself, have chosen Mount C of E Primary School for their own children. A good number of our pupils travel from out of catchment to be here too.

Many thanks for taking the time to find out more about our school and we hope that you will contact us if you need further information or wish to visit.

With kind regards,

Claire Kent
