Theory Behind our Class Names
Our classes are all named after trees. Peter Wohlleben's 'The Hidden Life of Trees' describes how the forest is a social network. He describes how trees are like human families: tree parents live together with their children, communicate with them, support them as they grow, share nutrients with those who are sick or struggling, and even warn each other of impending dangers. This analogy sits beautifully alongside our school values and within our school vision. From this, our class names grew. School are currently putting children into 'house teams' which include families from within school and are named based on local woodland and forest. These teams will be used to collect points for sporting activities.
