New Nottinghamshire mental health helpline to support people in crisis

Nottinghamshire Healthcare Foundation Trust has launched a new mental health helpline for local people in crisis.

The helpline number is 0300 303 0165 and is available to anyone in mental health crisis at anytime, anywhere across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

Available 24 hours a day, seven-days a week, it’s the number to call if you are experiencing a mental health crisis and need immediate help. It’s open to people of all ages who need urgent mental health support.

The helpline has been launched as part of the NHS Long Term Plan’s investment in Mental Health Services. It is the ‘first port of call’ for anyone experiencing a mental health crisis and removes the need for those people to seek help via hospital.

John Brewin, Chief Executive at Nottinghamshire Healthcare, said:

“This new crisis line will support people when they are experiencing a real mental health crisis to ensure that they get the help they need when they need it most.

“I’m incredibly proud of all the staff who have worked round the clock to get it up and running, and those that are stepping in to manage the calls on 24/7 basis.

"This crisis line will be vital to people struggling with their mental health especially in these challenging times.”

New Nottinghamshire mental health helpline to support people in crisis

Nottinghamshire Healthcare Trust has today launched a local mental health crisis helpline which is open 24 hours a day, seven-days a week.

The helpline number is 0300 303 0165 and is for anyone in crisis at anytime, anywhere across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

It’s open to people of all ages who need urgent mental health support.

The helpline has been launched as part of the NHS Long Term Plan’s investment in Mental Health Services. We hope that it will be particularly useful during the COVID-19 pandemic.

While health and care professionals can also call this number to seek advice, it's important to note that this service is predominantly a self-referral line for patients in crisis and preferably you should continue to use the area Crisis Resolution Home Treatment contacts.

These are the local numbers, which are all available 24/7.
